I have a very hard time finding answers on the Daz forums. Hi ChiaPet For the textures and time saving techniques, Mike Kelly has made available a plugin to gather all relative textures from a daz model and and get them assigned to their respective channels with in Iclone/cc there is a link to get you started. Thanks for pointing them out! Mike is a gem to the community. fbxkey that I don't ever see when I do an FBX export from another program) is a CC3 problem. I think the FBX import issue I posted here (where I need to provide some. I suspect the lack of textures is an issue with Daz Studio's export functionality-either because it's confusing or just a mess. That is exactly what I'm trying to do and why I posted about the issues I'm seeing trying to import the OBJ file of the sword prop into CC3. FWIW: At least my copy of CC3 does not even support importing. And then you should be able to convert the attached prop into a separate accessory. Then you can import the FBX without being asked for an fbxkey file. duf file from the CC3 Resources directory (as stated in the relevant tutorials). If you have a supported Genesis figure in DAZ Studio, you need to apply the respective. So it could probably be used to import a single prop, but AFAIK only if piggy-backed to a Genesis figure. Thanks for pointing them out! Mike is a gem to the community.Ībout the question "why we can't import props as FBX files": To import a single prop, 3DXchange would be the better way to go, I assume - CC3 is meant for characters, which may have attached props.

I'm going to try a potential workaround with FBX export from DS, once I get home from the office. I did buy CC3 pipeline at least, which I guess is why I can import. I don't have iClone currently, although I am considering it, once the Iray plugin works there as well. The Daz forums would answer this question better: I have not tried this but can't you save the individual components ( IE: a sword, hair, or clothing as props or export them somehow? I'll have to look into this myself i guess because i was under the impression you can? anyway, whatever, and good luck I'm wondering if CC3 is having trouble accessing or reading the MTL file that Daz Studio creates with the OBJ export? Hi Peter, The problem is that only the diffuse map seems to be imported by CC3 for OBJ prop/accessory imports. Any tips on the export OBJ settings in Daz to get all of those other maps put into the export folder? Thanks! I can only seem to get the diffuse map into the maps folder, so the prop looks very "flat" looking without the normals, roughness, etc. I'm trying to export a prop model from my Daz Studio content as an OBJ for import into CC3.

I'm assuming this has been asked before, but I couldn't find the answer. 3 In CC3 select the transformer to select the character you just exported, once loaded you will get a small error about selecting the wrong bone you can rescale the prop and parent to a different bone in CC3. Apply the correct T Pose to the character you have choosen, right click again in the scene panel and choose select all then export as fbx make sure the fbx option are set correctly. 1 Select a character that CC3 supports from daz3d in my example I choose Genesis 2 female I also choose the ax prop, in daz3d go to the scene tab and right click and choose change parent for the prop to select the desired bone in my example I choose right hand.
Artec studio exporting textures how to#
CC3 doesn't seem to understand MTL files-or if it does, I'm not sure how to load them. Your Daz forum link talks about MTLs, which I actually do get an MTL file when I export as an OBJ. fbxkey (which isn't generated when I export the model, that I can tell). If I export that sword model as an FBX from Daz, Character Creator thinks it's a character model and asks for other things like an. I'm not trying to import a character model with attached clothing or hair.

With all due respect, as I stated in the OP, I'm trying to import a prop (a sword in this case) that is separate from a character model.
